Bubbles is a 2 year old mix lab (3 next month). I had her since she was 5 weeks old and we bonded instantly. She loves to run with me and chase squirrels, deer, cats, and flying grass hoppers (well she loves to eat the grass hoppers). She is my best friend that anyone could ever ask for. She is very attach to me and loves to share the same pillow with me when we sleep. She is not only my friend but my own therapy dog. Eventually she will be trained as a certified therapy dog and will make many trips to the Wounded Warriors Project. I suffer with mental disorders and she has been right by my side through all my bad times and licks my tears when I cry. On February 12, 2017 it was a beautiful morning that I could not pass up to go explore our next camping and fishing site. So we ventured off. I had her off leash in an area we been to plenty of times that is secluded away from cars and people for her safety. She was swimming, eating the grass, exploring, and just about doing what she normally does. This is something we do often and she is always close by me. Somehow she apparently wandered off to far and got lost. I searched for her for 3 hours while running 7 miles back and forth looking for her. I knew in my heart something bad happened. I got the phone call that no parent wants to receive saying they found Bubbles and she got hit by a car. A nice lady saved her while many cars just passed her and never once helped. She currently has air in her lungs and the lungs are weak and damaged. She has a torn ACL and PCL on her right knee with multiple ligaments damaged. Her other leg has a possible ACL tear. Surgery was supposed to be performed Monday but her lungs are in bad shape so we will have to wait for Tuesday or Wednesday if her lungs heal up. There is a possibility of amputating her leg. As of today, day 2, her medical bills are $4,634.05. This amount is including surgery. The next few days will determine mine and her future. I am reaching out to all pet lovers, pet moms, and anyone that can help pay for her medical bills. She deserves to swim, run, and chase squirrels again.
All Chances complete 30 days after they are first Submitted for Verification by the Pet Owner. The reason they end at all is because credit card refunds must be issued if the funds cannot be raised and, therefore, the treament will not be provided.
So, if a Chance will not be fulfilled by a doctor/provider within 30 days, the money must be refunded to the people who made donations.
Shortly before the Chance completion date Pet Chance will try to work with the doctor/provider to see if the treatment can be fulfilled with partial funding.
Our goal is to fullfil as many Chances as possible!
We call it Pet Care Assurance...
At Pet Chance, our goal is to empower pet owners to make the right decisions for their pets. By funding Chances where owners have already incurred debt we are giving the next owner facing that daunting decision confidence to provide their pet with the care it needs.
The more Chances where treatment was already provided to get funded, the more likely it is owners (and vets) will make the right medical decision first, and handle the financial obligation after the fact.
We encourage you to support the work we do to help pets and their owners so we can continue to run PetChance.org.
Our world-class customer service and national impact has honored us with Top Nonprofit awards from Great NonProfits. We can only do this thanks to your generous contributions!
