I have never had to do this until recently. That is - ask for help. Less than a month ago we had to put our Mini Long Haired Daschound to sleep after a unexpected dislocated back. I only had money to pay for one night of treatment and the treatment didn't go well. The vet suggested to put Max to sleep and so we did only I didn't have the funds to pay the last bill for him. A very nice organization helped pay for Max's ending bill of $278 which was amazing to me.
I am now trying to raise funds for our other dog Babie. She is a loving Mastiff/Great Dane and now less than one month after having to put her best friend to sleep, Babie is hurt as well and can't walk. My children and I are devastated and I am not sure how I will be able to afford any of this.
Babie is going to need care and surgery and it's going to cost so much money I am not sure how to do this. I am newly a single mom and struggling with it but I am dreading and hoping to not have to tell the kids that the second member in our house will have to be put to sleep... The cost of the surgery runs around $7800. I am doing my best to come up with money - ie pulling money out of our life insurance at cash value etc. - but this is only around $1400.
I am asking for help to save our Babie, she is the most amazing loving dog that you'll ever meet and she just lost her best friend. I am trying to do all I can to not lose another part of our family.
Any help will be more than appreciated as I am humbled and thankful that I have even found a site like this. I know it's a lot of money and not sure how it's possible to even raise this money. But I had to try everthing as she is part of us and we don't want to lose her as she is so young and this was so unexpected.
I was not sure what to type here and feel a bit lost right now. Thank you for reading and considering helping!
All Chances complete 30 days after they are first Submitted for Verification by the Pet Owner. The reason they end at all is because credit card refunds must be issued if the funds cannot be raised and, therefore, the treament will not be provided.
So, if a Chance will not be fulfilled by a doctor/provider within 30 days, the money must be refunded to the people who made donations.
Shortly before the Chance completion date Pet Chance will try to work with the doctor/provider to see if the treatment can be fulfilled with partial funding.
Our goal is to fullfil as many Chances as possible!
We call it Pet Care Assurance...
At Pet Chance, our goal is to empower pet owners to make the right decisions for their pets. By funding Chances where owners have already incurred debt we are giving the next owner facing that daunting decision confidence to provide their pet with the care it needs.
The more Chances where treatment was already provided to get funded, the more likely it is owners (and vets) will make the right medical decision first, and handle the financial obligation after the fact.
We encourage you to support the work we do to help pets and their owners so we can continue to run PetChance.org.
Our world-class customer service and national impact has honored us with Top Nonprofit awards from Great NonProfits. We can only do this thanks to your generous contributions!
